Photovoltaic Self-Consumption Installation at our Alcalá de Henares Plant

The aim of the “Installation of Photovoltaic Self-Consumption at the Alcalá de Henares Plant” project is to implement a self-consumption system using photovoltaic solar energy to cover part of the energy demand of the plant’s facilities.

This initiative seeks to reduce CO₂ emissions, advance the energy transition, and improve the efficiency and sustainability of the plant’s activities. Thanks to the generation of clean, renewable energy, dependence on conventional sources is reduced and a contribution is made to meeting national and European climate and environmental objectives.

Impact of the project

The new system will make it possible to make optimal use of the solar resources available in Alcalá de Henares, providing local renewable energy, reducing energy costs, and strengthening the plant’s competitiveness. This lays the foundations for a more sustainable and efficient energy model that is in line with decarbonization commitments.

Financing

This project is part of the incentive programs linked to self-consumption and storage, with renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of renewable thermal systems in the residential sector, managed by the Energy Foundation of the Community of Madrid, and has the financial support of the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

Investment

The project has a total investment of €560,675.00, of which €84,101.25 has been granted as aid under the self-consumption incentive program.
